Red Bauble-itis
Here we have Santa’s red and white theme. Really festive colours and not hard to recreate with red crackers, red baubles the hanging wreath.
Tesco’s 12 piece dinner set. They have actually gone a bit red bauble-itis and stuck a few of them in the drinking glasses…hmmm…not so sure, but I do like the red berries positioned on the back of the chairs as another really simple festive idea.

Silver And White
How about this silver and white set up. Silver baubles, white and silver crackers, gentle glowing white frosted glass votive lights with mistletoe and and a simple card name tag. Classy.

Simply Refined
This is a beautiful and refined Christmas table centre piece. Shadowing it will impress upon your guests that you have ‘The Eye’ for a well composed visual and yet it is actually quite easy to put together.
Lets take a closer look at this composition. On a cream or white table cloth we have black place mats. They have gone one further here and set the glasses on little snowflake doilies. Then we have the pine cone and garland arrangement running down the centre of the table with the 2 types of candles. One type in little jars and a patterned set which if you peek carefully you will see that they match the plated serviettes.
So quite a bit of attention to detail here. It looks like the host really gives a damn doesn’t it? It’s beautifully put together and remember that you don’t have to follow everything religiously, you can put your own take on some of the elements.

Apple Trees
Now isn’t this is a dinky little idea? Red, red apples displayed with mini Christmas tree arrangement. Perhaps I would personally opt for a simple block colour runner down the centre of the table, possibly white, so it’s not too distracting. I’m not enjoying the patterned green here. These apple sculptures are loud statement pieces in themselves and they don’t really need to compete with too many things visually.

Angel Wing Chairs
Tres arty. Tres shabby chic. You need a handsome Christmas idea for a such a characterful place and the angel wing chairs is it.

Quiet Elegance
Fir tree branches and cones with silvery blue and silver baubles. Tall, plain elegant candles placed along the middle of the table. Simple but effective.

Gold And Coffee
This is a great coffee and gold palette. Adult, classic and classy. On top of the dark wood farmhouse table you have lighter brown wicker place mats. Brown patterned napkins, some tastefully decorated presents (real or not) that stay true to the colour scheme. The glass candle holders and the glass wine bucket are just perfect for this setting and I’m rather in love with the scattered berries all along the napkin matching table runner.
The simple white dining set adds the colour distraction needed. A beautifully sophisticated setting.

Tea Lights And Baubles
Tealights, baubles and pine branches. Again, so simple but effective and it won’t punish your pocket either to create a centre-piece like this.

Red Runner
This table arrangement is certainly less creative than the previous examples but even so it still captures the spirit of the occasion and shows how easy it is to make the dining table Christmas-y and inviting with really just a few things. A simple white table cloth meets a red runner, red napkins, red place mats and ice blue crackers. There are little gold votive candle lights backed by a couple of their slimmer, taller brothers with the centre-piece being red roses. Of course having that magnificent traditional tree in the background certainly helps.

Purple Reign(deer?)
How about this colour scheme? Purple and silver. Purple tablecloth, purple napkins, silver baubles, purple flutes and some nice crystal glasses. The white plates with the snowflake on them are a nice little touch for the occasion too.

Chill-ax Christmas
I really like this setting. It shows you that a relaxed table setting works just as well as a heartily planned one. White and silver crackers, white and decorative silver hearts, a silver tree no bigger than a loaf of bread stood sideaways, lots of red berries and basic red and white table runner. The vibe is chilled (albeit in the hot sun!) with the focus on the grub. It still works.

Red Stripe
Very homely, very accessible design, very red stripey! It’s a bit of a mish mash of ideas with the central theme being RED! And STRIPES! The place mats are rather sweet with the little pockets for the cutlery. Get them here if it’s your thing.

Gold Fingers
This last example is set in a gorgeous home – which helps – but clearly a gold based styling decision has been made here and this is the key. If you really want your Christmas table to elicit ‘Wow!’s and various ‘Oh my goodnesses!‘ plan ahead. Think about your home setting and go for colours that suit what you have there already. Or go ahead be a rebel! Go for a colour scheme regardless of your home colours but decide on it first and foremost then you have your yard stick or reference in your head as you shop.
This table has gold drinking flutes, gold wrapped presents on display, gold votive candle light holders, gold crackers, gold napkin rings, with large blue mint baubles, both of which are carried on to the Christmas tree in the background. These key colours go really well with the room decor which is predominantly stylish white, along with the simple white table runner and then you have autumn-y browns, (the wreath and the vases on the mantel piece) and lovely bushels of solid green. A really well thought out Christmas campaign.

Pale stockings, fresh or faux greenery, silver ornaments, fruit guarded by lanterns either end makes for a really fresh and vibrant mantel display.

Lots of Gold and Green and Glow. A really lovely mantelpiece arrangement highlighted by the central gold star.

Drrrr-ama! This mantelpiece has no intention of fading into the back ground. Woah! Red berry wreaths against a blood red wall and white mantel with over 20 uniform candle soldiers all standing to attention…and then I noticed the fire! Love it.

Gold, silver and elegantly garish. A rather nice arrangement that does not bow to the usual, instead it plays with the theme of Christmas. You have the wreath but it’s gold. You have baubles and they are gold and silver. No reds. No whites. It doesn’t SCREAM Christmas, it does say ‘celebration.’
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Lush green foliage with beads intertwined, pine cones, berries and peaches, (yet more fruit). Really simple ideas with effective results

I love to show folks, (mostly Moms of course), you that you don’t have to go crazy trying to be all things to everyone at Christmas. Simplicity works. What can I tell you…a wreath and a Christmas banner…but I love it!

I thought this was a great idea for places short on space or just a creative, adventurous mind.
Ms Schouten made this wall tree from ‘useless but pretty objects’ she had collected over the years.
