Inspire Notes:
We rather like this homestyle! It’s eclectic, accessible, do-able, a bit cheeky and unpretentious. From the very European-esque window shutters to the bowl with the magazines in, the cushions jostling for space on the much ‘bottomed’ sofa and the flowers in the bottles.
Two delicious accents catch our eye here. The round, fit to burst armchair – it’s a lovely colour for this room and the floor standing mirror. Also quite like the staging of this photograph with the dress sash singing in tune with the door’s glass paneling and the bed cover. Nice touch.
Ah, the tailors dummy! The tailors dummy is a favourite at The Home Style Directory. See this homestyle. It just looks so cool in the right space and it is also useful for draping jewellery and casually thrown clothing.
Très European is the white against the bright colours of the chairs and the arched entrance to the kitchen.

To capture this feel one would be looking for upcycled and vintage accessories rather than jostling for brand new items in the sales.
This place is about character and character pieces. Just check out the wonderful Charles Eames rocking chair. This chair has been seen in many a space but this is one of the coolest placements because it isn’t trying too hard to share it’s quarters with too many other mid twentieth century classic pieces.
It feels like a quirky happenstance find along with it’s Punk cushion and the Campbell’s soup nod to Warhol.
The colourful storage boxes (one holding up the Campbell’s soup frame and one under the rustic side-table) are cute and sum up the laissez-faire attitude of this space.
Key pieces to note are the tailor’s dummy, the display cabinet, the worn flat woven rugs, the mosquito net, the shutters, the multi-panelled coloured glass door. Don’t forget the flower accessories and the artwork. These are some of the elements that give this particular space it’s unique character.
