Inspire Notes:
This beautiful, single storey home in Sweden overlooks a wide expanse of lake waters. The house is built in a H-shape which protects the exposed courtyard and creates a warm intimacy. The simple rustic feel is created by the use of natural materials, iron, untreated pine wood and concrete.
Simple. Rustic. Raw. Beautiful.
Wood decking, rattan chairs and a lovely exterior fire creates a cosy place to sit and watch the gorgeous natural views.
A rugged, honest architectural structure…And is it me or is this building flipping the world off saying, ‘yeah, I’m individual, isolated, raw, unpretentious and beautiful. Deal with it!’
From this angle the furniture choice for the dining area looks a little Burger King for my palette… Who cares? A minor blip in a Wondrous Place.

This home style is rustic Swedish living. There is no statement or show-off furniture, only what is needed. The architectural design, the raw environment and super lovely view need no furnishing look-at-me ness.
This is down to earth simple living for down to earth simple living folk. So the basics: a really simple white palette, plenty of natural materials as aforementioned, stone, wood, iron (steel actually).
Outside is rugged and un-coiffeured and inside has unspoilt concrete flooring. The homeowners have stuck to mostly simple black and white or wood furniture with, (on the most part) almost naively charming bare walls.
